Rabbits were first domesticated by man in Africa

They were first considered for food, in Aida, 3,000 years ago.

Rabbits have been marketed in Europe for 1,000 years.

They are eaten by the inhabitants of all the continents.

Now being raised all over the world at a profit for meat, pelts and wool.

The U.S. Government is & has spent large sums of money experimenting with RABBITS.

Rabbits are raised in all 50 states and our territories.

There are over 50 breeds of rabbits.

There are more than 200,000 families raising rabbits.

In trying to produce a better meat rabbit, 7 breeds were actually originated in the US.

Only 600 head of producing animals will provide full time employment.

Each rabbit will show a profit of from $7.50 to $15.00, depending on factors.

Rabbit meat can be prepared over 300 different ways.

The wool of the rabbit is lighter and warmer than any other.

It is no longer a pet but a valuable agricultural animal.

Up to 93% of the rabbit can be used.
