Rules is Rules

Showing your rabbits requires knowing what you should do and what you should not do when participating in any ARBA sanctioned show. All the pertinent rules set forth by the ARBA are listed in the ARBA yearbook. Not being aware of these rules does not excuse anyone from abiding by them. Intentionally breaking any rule may result in the disqualification of your rabbits and you may be asked to leave the show. Show superintendents are responsible for enforcing the rules during the show. Any discrepancy of the ARBA rules should be brought to the attention of the show superintendent.

Most everyone showing rabbits has probably made some mistake while exhibiting their rabbits. Experienced breeders may inform new participants of their mistakes but this can sometimes cause misunderstandings between competitors. Judges usually will inform exhibitors when they are not complying with the show rules.

These are some of the rules set for exhibitors:

26. All animals must be permanently and legibly marked
       in the left ear.
30. All animals must be the bonafide property of the
       exhibitor(s) prior to the entry.
33. Every exhibitor hereby agrees to submit to the
jurisdiction of the ARBA, and to abide by the rules.
35. No exhibitor will be allowed behind the judging
tables, unless acting in an official capacity.
45. Exhibitors or guardians of exhibitors attempting to,
or actually interfering with, annoying, molesting or
influencing the judge…shall have all their stock
disqualified. …& shall be ejected by the show
superintendent and barred from the show room.
47. Each animal must be exhibited in its natural
condition. Violation of this rule will have their animal
      disqualified…Examples include dying, plucking,
trimming or any other action designed to deceive.

Showing and exhibiting rabbits can be a fun and exiting experience for breeders young and old. Ask questions, tell others what you may know and always have a good time at the shows. If we can help you in any way, come by and talk to us. We will be at most of the Texas shows.
